Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb sausage
  • 1/2 lb bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  2. Brown the ground beef and sausage in the same pot until browned and no longer pink.
  3. Sauté the onion, garlic, and bell pepper until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Combine everything by stirring in tomatoes, broth, chili powder, cumin, and bacon.
  5. Slow cook the mixture on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
  7. Serve hot, topped with avocado and cilantro, if desired.

Notes

Let the chili rest for a few minutes after cooking to help the flavors settle. Adjust the spice level and toppings as desired.
