A simple and flavorful crockpot barbecue chicken recipe that’s perfect for busy families.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by placing the chicken breasts or thighs in the crockpot in a single layer.
  2. Add salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings over the chicken, then pour the barbecue sauce on top.
  3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until tender.
  4. Serve by shredding the chicken with two forks and mixing it with the sauce in the crockpot.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the crockpot. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F and let it rest before shredding.
